APPLE CRUMBLE

APPLE CRUMBLE

  • Pastry
  • 1 cup plain (all-purpose) flour
  • 70g butter
  • 2 tablespoons iced water
  • Pre-heat oven to 180 c.

Place all ingredeints into the Bamix Slicey using the masterblade attachment. Process the flour and butter in the Slicesy attachment until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. While the motor is running, add enough iced water to form a smooth dough. Knead very lightly then wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. When ready to use, roll out on a lightly floured surface until 3mm (1/8 in) thick. Place pastry in a greased pie dish.

Filling

2 large Granny Smith Apples Using the large slicing blade blade in the Bamix Slicesy attachment, slice apples and arrange on top of shortcrust pastry mixture.

Crumble

  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • ½ cjup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1/3 cup desiccated coconut
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 90gms butter chopped

Method

Using the Bamix Slicesy attachment with Masterblade, process all ingredients together, till mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

Spread over the top of the apple mixture. Bake in oven for 25-30 mins or until golden brown.

Serve in bowl with ice cream or fresh cream.
